 Lucky the LionI'm Lucky the lion. I'm a male; you can tell this because I have a mane. I'm not the fastest of all the big cats – that's the cheetah, but I can still run up to 80km per hour. I'd rather be lying in the sun. I usually spend 16 – 20 hours a day sleeping and resting. I live in a pride with my family. We usually go hunting together but the lionesses do most of the hunting. We're pretty social, and we show affection by nuzzling our heads, face and neck against each other, just like your pet cat may do at home. That's because we're related. I can eat up to 30kgs of food in one sitting. I usually drink water everyday but if I have to I can last four to five days without it because I can get some moisture from the food I eat. When I roar loudly you can hear it from 8kms away! |
