 Stripes the TigerI'm Stripes the tiger, I am the largest of the big cats and I like to eat meat. My stripes are like your fingerprints – unique to me. There used to be eight types of tiger but three are now extinct. There are only five tiger species left and most of these left are endangered. There are now more tigers in captivity than there are in the wild to try and keep them protected. Because of the cold weather the Siberian tiger is the biggest of the tiger species still alive and has an average length of 3m and an average weight of 245kg. It also has the thickest fur to keep it extra warm over winter. The cool thing about being a tiger is that I can see really well at night time. My vision at night is six times better than yours! How many teeth do you have in you mouth? When I grow into an adult tiger I will have 30 teeth in mine. |
