About KidsFest

TV2 KidsFest is New Zealand’s longest-running, best-loved festival of events designed especially for children, and now TV2 KidsFest is 17!

The first KidsFest brochure was just 14 pages long and made up of 54 events promoted to 50,000 children. In 1996, CoolStuff arrived on the scene, and our fun-loving mascot is still here having as good a time as ever!

This year’s colourful, 72-page brochure contains over 200 fantastic events to entertain over 70,000 children from all over Christchurch, Banks Peninsula, Waimakariri and Selwyn, plus loads of kids who travel to Christchurch from other parts of New Zealand for their holidays.

TV2 KidsFest is coordinated by the Christchurch City Council Events Production Team, with support from Marketing, Graphic Design, IM&CT, Communications and Customer Services teams, on behalf of the KidsFest Charitable Trust.
